You can look for an apartment in Yerevan without a car: the city is compact and taxis are cheap. But if you are here for a few days and want to see ten options in different districts, your own car saves time and stress. Here is when it is really worth it, what it costs and how to book. When a car pays off during the search

Viewings across the city. The centre, Arabkir, Davtashen and Nork-Marash are far apart, and owners set viewing times that suit them. With a car you do not wait for a taxi between viewings.
You are looking for a house, not an apartment. Private houses are often on narrow streets away from the metro. With a car you immediately see what the daily drive is like and where to park.
You came with family. Kids, a stroller, a child seat: much easier in your own car than in a taxi.
You want to see homes outside the city. Without a car, the towns around Yerevan take a long time to reach.

If all your viewings are in one district, you do not need a car: walking and taxis will be cheaper.

What it costs

On GetRentacar there were 261 offers in Yerevan from local owners and rental companies on 22 October 2026. On the first page of results prices were roughly 3,100 to 8,200 roubles per day; many cars come with unlimited mileage and some are marked "no deposit". The price depends on dates, car class and the owner, so check the final amount for your dates.

How to pay

You pay 15% of the rental online and the remaining 85% to the owner when you pick up the car. If the owner allows it, you can pay 100% on the website. The service says it accepts Visa and Mastercard debit cards. Bookings come with free cancellation.

The owner may ask you for a photo holding your licence: this is a standard check.

How to combine the car and viewings

In the centre a free spot near the building is hard to find; private houses often have their own yard. 3. Drive the route at rush hour.
