Why the EU rules do not apply
EU Regulation 261/2004 kicks in when a flight departs from an EU airport on any airline, or arrives in the EU on an EU airline. Moscow-Yerevan does neither.
- It departs from Russia and lands in Armenia, both outside the EU.
- Aeroflot, S7 and Pobeda are not EU carriers.
- UK, Georgian and Thai rules do not cover this route either.
- As of 22.10.2026 there is no fixed €250-600 payout on this flight.

Russian rules, with a caveat
That leaves Russian law. We have not verified whether it applies to an international flight such as Moscow-Yerevan, so treat it as a guide, not a promise.
Air Code art. 120
Under the current wording (Law 487-FZ of 04.08.2023) the carrier pays a fine of 100 roubles per hour of late delivery, capped at 50% of the fare.
When no fine is due
If the carrier proves force majeure, repair of a fault that threatened passengers' life or health, or other circumstances beyond its control.
Losses on top
You can claim your full losses from the delay on top of the fine.
Not verified
Whether art. 120 covers international flights. The old figure of 25 roubles per hour is out of date.
What you get while waiting
FAP-82, clause 99, as amended by Ministry of Transport order No 341 of 15.10.2025. It covers delays, cancellations or interruptions caused by the carrier, at the departure or stopover airport:
- Boarding has not started after 2 hours: drinking water, within the next hour.
- After 4 hours: a hot meal and drinks, then every 6 hours by day and every 8 hours at night.
- After 8 hours by day or 6 hours at night: a hotel with transfers both ways. Day is 06:01-21:59, night is 22:00-06:00.
- With a child under 7: a mother and child room. Luggage storage is also available.
- All free of charge; meals may come as paper or electronic vouchers.
The current wording has no free phone calls, even though old leaflets still promise them.
What to do at the airport
- Photograph the departures board and note your actual arrival time in Yerevan.
- If you paid for water, food or a hotel yourself, keep the receipts.
- Ask the airline desk what reason it gives for the delay: the art. 120 fine depends on it.
- Ignore euro amounts from European guides: they do not apply to this flight.
Why we do not offer AirHelp for this flight
The rules for Moscow-Yerevan are not confirmed, and we would rather not sell hope. AirHelp has a page on Moscow-Yerevan disruptions dated 12.10.2026 that says flights "may qualify for compensation", but it names no law and is marked as AI-generated, so it is not something to rely on.

Is there €250-400 for a Moscow-Yerevan delay?
