Georgia's air passenger rules: what they contain

Georgia has delay compensation rules written down with amounts in euros. They were drafted with the European regulation in mind but differ in the details, and if you fly to Batumi or Tbilisi those details are worth knowing.

01.09.2012rules in force
€600flights over 3,500 km
24 hoursof rescheduling before a hotel
5 hoursof delay for a fare refund

Where the rules come from

The rules on compensation and assistance to passengers were approved by order No 122 of the Director of the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency on 17.07.2012 and took effect on 01.09.2012. They were amended by orders No 178 of 06.11.2012, No 274 of 09.12.2021 and No 293 of 27.12.2021.

They refer to the EU-Georgia Common Aviation Area Agreement and to Regulation 261/2004. We read the English translation on the agency's site; the official text is in Georgian.
