Why EU261 does not apply
- It departs from Armenia and lands in the UAE: neither airport is in the EU.
- flydubai is not an EU airline, so the "arriving in the EU on an EU carrier" rule does not apply either.
- We found no Armenian rules with fixed payouts, though we cannot say none exist.
- We have not checked UAE passenger rights rules. If they exist, check them with the airline or official UAE sources.

If Dubai is your connection to Europe
The EU regulation looks at where a flight departs and who operates it. For trips via Dubai, as of 22.10.2026:

If a single booking started in the EU and a missed connection got you to your final destination more than 3 hours late, compensation is possible even if a non-EU airline ran the connecting flight.
What to do on Yerevan-Dubai
- Keep your boarding pass and the airline's delay confirmation.
- Note your actual arrival time in Dubai.
- If you are missing a connection, ask the airline about rebooking straight away: that gets sorted on the spot, not later.
- Keep receipts for food and a hotel separately: they help whichever rules turn out to apply.
- Send your complaint to flydubai: that is the one address we can name with confidence.
