What Bulgaria does not have
- A 3 GB plan. Armenia has one for $7.80; here 1 GB for $3 is followed straight by 5 GB.
- 5G everywhere. Of the three operators on the Yesim page only mtel has 5G; Yettel and Vivacom are LTE.
- A number. Data only: no calls, no SMS, no Bulgarian number. Use messaging apps to call.
- Balkans plan prices from us. The Bulgaria page offers an 11-country regional plan, but we have not collected its prices. If your route crosses neighbouring countries, compare it on Yesim yourself.
Cities on the coverage list
Yesim names Sofia, Varna, Burgas and Plovdiv among covered cities. Treat them as examples rather than a coverage map: the page does not show where each of the three operators works.
Before you fly from Yerevan
- Dial *#06#: an EID line in the reply means your phone supports eSIM.
- Buy the plan and install it by QR code at home; you have 180 days to do that.
- The plan clock starts once the phone connects to a network, so switch the eSIM on after landing.
- Travelling as a family with two or more eSIMs? Yesim gives 10% off.
Back home, see eSIM for Armenia.
