eSIM for Asia: one regional plan or separate countries

You are flying to Phuket to view new builds and then want to stop in Vietnam or elsewhere in the region. One plan for all of Asia sounds logical, but Yesim's Thailand eSIM is clearly cheaper than the regional ones. So let us run the numbers.

Worked examples

Two weeks in Phuket, then Vietnam

Thai 10 GB ($13.20) plus Vietnamese 5 GB ($11.52) = $24.72, or about $22.25 with 10% off for two eSIMs. South-East Asia 20 GB: $27.96. Two separate eSIMs win.

Phuket only

No need for a regional plan: 10 GB for Thailand is $13.20 against $19.20 for South-East Asia.

Three countries, a little in each

Thailand 5 GB ($8.40), Vietnam 5 GB ($11.52) and Malaysia 5 GB ($11.52) = $31.44. South-East Asia 20 GB: $27.96. Here one plan can win, if all three countries are on its list.
